O’Neil Software pledges $2,500

Let’s get this party started… Over the last two years O’Neil Software and its Partners have been able to contribute over $30,000 to children based charities.  Its Record Center Challenge, which takes place at its Strategic Partner Conference, became the vehicle for fund raising and has proven to be a popular addition.  In 2009, O’Neil Software is delighted to be a part of PRISM International’s first Charity Event and has pledged $2,500 to get the event off to a flying start.

Charity donations are not new to O’Neil Software, but a fun method was first introduced in March 2007 when 22 teams of 6 industry professionals constructed bicycles to be donated to a surf-camp for under privileged children.  Competition to build the best bicycle was fierce but everyone turned out to be a masterpiece of modern engineering.  With Penn Records Management arranging the collection of the completed bicycles, and an additional cash donation of $2000 from BridgeDoc, a lot of children were made very happy, with a contribution value of around $7,000. In September 2008, O’Neil Software again set the Record Center Challenge, but that year the charity was Share Our Strength, focused on children and hunger.   With an “iron Chef” challenge, the teams of record management professionals inspired the judges (3 top chef’s from local hotels) but the big surprise was the final donation.  With hopes of raising $10,000 the final amount exceeded $23,000, largely due to silent auction and cash donations from REB Steel, FileMan, Access Information Management, The Hyatt Regency and the Newport Dunes, amongst others .  You can Click Here to see a photo of the participants after a long hard day of cooking.

So now it’s up to all us PRISM members to get behind this first PRISM Charity Event.  Action Against Hunger has been chosen as the charity to benefit from this event and it is a fabulous cause.  To use their words, their “nutrition programs treat and prevent acute malnutrition in young children. The programs are launched most often during times of crisis—when an earthquake devastates a city, when civil war tears apart a country, when drought leads to famine, when families flee violence only to confront hunger.”

Through the PRISMGives.com website and sponsorship of this event, let us show them that PRISM cares.
